About Vienna Groundnuts

Vienna Groundnuts was established in 2017 with the aim of providing a steady, reliable market for locally grown groundnuts. In 2019 we partnered with Roba Foods, which strengthened our access to seed and improved market stability for our growers.

Vienna Groundnuts forms part of Bergamont Trading. The directors are Lourens de Kock, Mariette Barnes, Eduard Dreyer and Beate Dreyer. Their combined experience in farming, engineering, finance and operational management helps the business run smoothly from intake to final product delivery.

We specialise in receiving farmer stock, cleaning, shelling, grading and colour-sorting groundnuts. All processing is done on site. The goal is to supply a clean, consistent and reliable peanut product that buyers can use with confidence.

We participate in industry structures through SAGIS and SANSOR, ensuring proper reporting, traceability and alignment with South African agricultural standards.

Each season we provide work to around 150 temporary employees, many from nearby communities. The harvest cycle creates several months of steady employment and supports the local agricultural economy.
